Description
Many people living with type 2 diabetes also carry a significantly elevated risk of serious heart events — including heart attack and stroke — particularly when high blood pressure and established cardiovascular disease are also present. Despite current treatments, managing these interconnected risks remains one of the most important challenges in modern medicine.
This clinical study is investigating whether a new investigational medication, taken daily, can help reduce cardiovascular risk in people with this combination of conditions. It works through a mechanism that differs from most existing diabetes and heart medications, offering the potential for a meaningful new treatment option.
As a participant, you will receive the study medication at no cost, regular health monitoring by our experienced clinical team, and reimbursement for your time and travel. All study-related tests and consultations are provided free of charge.
What to Expect
- You will be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational study medication or a placebo — neither you nor the clinical team will know which you have received
- An initial screening visit to confirm your eligibility, including blood tests, an ECG, and a medical history review — at no cost to you
- Regular clinic visits every six months for health checks, blood tests, vital signs, and medication supply
- Six-monthly phone check-ins between visits to monitor your safety and wellbeing
- All study medications, tests, and consultations are provided at no cost to you
- Reimbursement for your time and reasonable travel costs associated with each visit
- You are free to withdraw at any time, for any reason, without affecting your usual medical care
